I did something similar a while ago. I started investing 1 euro and turned it into 500 euros, where I finally stopped. It was fun but it takes time, which I can honestly invest better with my family without going any further.
When I think about buying products for resale, I always think that it has to be scalable. I don’t go out and buy 10 or less of something even if I can get something out of it. The alternative of buying 500 Lego sets is simply much better. Not everyone has that option and in my case too there is always the possibility that I will have to start from scratch at some point.
eBay Auctions
An easy way to get real bargains is through eBay auctions. There is one small but important nuance. You have to know what you are doing. The “trick” here is to buy lots of something that you can then resell individually. With lots it is not too difficult to multiply your initial investment by 5-20 at once. To identify good buys you have to become an expert in some subject. In my case it is collectibles with (modern) toys. I have already told you this previously:
- Become an expert at something.
- Buy lots of things for 1-5 euros to learn by doing and better by selling.
- Don’t get into niches with a lot of competition (video games, cards, etc.)
Basically, do this. Be alert. It’s as simple as taking out your phone and researching the product you can buy and analyzing if there is a sufficiently interesting margin.
